Friday Nights at OMCA (Oakland Museum of California) is a great option for a family night out. It is a weekly event that is hosted by the by the Oakland Museum and off the grid trucks. The kids and I decided to ditch daddy and Skyler (son, 1), so we could have some fun!

We ended up having such a great time from the live music, activities for kids and visiting the museum. they also have food trucks and you can get discounted tickets for the museum. Niko (son, 5) and Saniyah (stepdaughter, 12) loved the chicken and waffle food truck, while I went with an Indian fusion truck.

I was so happy we were lucky enough to get to see the sneaker exhibit before it’s departure a couple months ago. It was really fun to see all the shoes that I loved as a kid and the evolution of the sneaker. We also were able to sneak some time in and visit other parts of the museum.

All in all, this is a great event to attend and definitely family friendly!

  1. I like this post so much, also your kids are adorable.
My parents took me to museums growing up and I learned to truly appreciate them, now I love going. I also really like your writing style. Great post!

  2. Thank you so much! They are a handful, but they keep me going. Yes, I feel now I can appreciate museums so much more now.
